At least 8 people were taken to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu after they sustained injuries in separate road accidents in Jammu region on Monday, a police spokesman said.
He said that one Satpal (56) son of Beli Ram of ChakGujra, Samba, sustained injuries after he was hit by a truck at New Bus Stand, Samba.
“Two people, identified as Shiv Kumar (38) of Bari Brahamana and Shabir Jaleel of Kargil Colony were injured when the matador they were travelling in, skidded off the road at Bari Brahamana,” said the police spokesman.
At Gandhinagar area of the district, he said, one Sonia (25) wife of Balbir of Akalpur, was injured when she was hit by an unknown vehicle.
According to the police spokesman, four people, Lal Chand (48) son of Mondu Ram, Surinder Kumar (48) son of Bhag Singh, Kamraj (40) son of Mongu Ram and Mohinder Kumar (43), all residents of Ramkot, Billawar, were injured when the different motorcycles they were riding on, collided with each other. The injured were undergoing treatment at medical college Jammu when the last report poured in.
Meanwhile, police have registered cases under relevant sections of the law and taken up further investigations.
