Army, today, paid tributes to late Sowar Kishan Singh, who died during a gunfight at Sirnoo area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir on Saturday.
“In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks paid homage to the slain on behalf of a proud nation. In a show of solidarity, representatives from other security agencies also joined in to pay their last respects to the soldier,” Army’s Srinagar based spokesman said in a statement.
Late Sowar Kishan Singh, was 29 years old and had joined the Army in 2010. He belonged to Village Bhinchri of Ratangarh Tehsil in Churu, Rajasthan and is survived by his wife and two sons, the spokesman said. “The mortal remains of the slain were taken for last rites to his native place. In this hour of grief, the Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved family and remains committed to their dignity and well being,” the spokesman said.
