Senior JCC leader and president of Employees Joint Action Committee, Abdul Qayoom Wani on Sunday condemned the killing of seven civilians and injuries to more than 20 people in forces action at Sirnoo Pulwama.
Wani in a statement termed the incident as painful, unfortunate and unjustified. “The civilian killings can no way be justified,” he said.
He urged upon the authorities to put an immediate halt to the civilian killings to avoid uncertainty and sense of insecurity among the people.
Wani also urged upon the human rights organisations to play their role to put an end to the civilian killings in Jammu and Kashmir.
He demanded independent probe into the incident and to punish the persons responsible for the civilian killings. Wani expressed sympathy with the bereaved families and those who were injured in the incident and prayed for their speedy recovery.
