A complete shutdown is being observed on second consecutive day in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district to mourn the killings of two militants in a gunfight yesterday.
Owais Ahmad Bhat alias Abu Bakar of Gund Brath and Tahir Ramzan Dar alias Abu Abdullah of Saidpora were killed in an overnight gunfight with the government forces in Brath Kalan yesterday.
All the shops and other business establishments are closed in Sopore town while a skeletal movement of traffic was witnessed on the roads.
Meanwhile, locals including men and women were seen visiting the families of the slain militants to offer condolences.
Class work remained suspended in all educational institutions in Sopore sub division as per an order issued by the additional district magistrate Sopore last night.
